​Vote 1 Ray Karam for Mayor of Ballina and 'A' Ward Councillor

My vision for Ballina is that we continue to build a solid community that works together to support what we all need. I have said for a long time that I really enjoy the mix of generations we have in the town, from the elderly to the young from the younger families to the mid 20’s we have everyone represented, a town with a great balance and foundation. It could be possible that we have everything we need in our town. Bringing everyone together and representing your voice will be my focus if I am elected.

Why do I stand alone as an Independent? I don’t, you just can’t see my team in the usual way you have experienced seeing a team. My team is the family and community that surrounds me. I’m not looking to ‘stack’ the Local Government with like minded people. I am opening myself up to be a part of the team chosen by the community. It’s not a numbers game but more a bringing together of the people who the community votes for.

What do I stand for?

  • I want to see a solution to the shark problem that respects all the stakeholders in the local community – ongoing community consultation is needed here
  • I want to see the Ballina Bar Dredged to support our long time fishing community and culture
  • I want to see the continued development of our industrial land
  • I want to see our Airport continue to expand and support the growing visitors to our great town
  • I want to see us with a multi function community and sport indoor centre
  • I want to see us continue to explore the possibility of an Ocean Pool at Black Head, East Ballina
  • I want to see a solution to our parking issues in the CBD
  • I want to see supportive developments that respect the town and community expectations
  • I want to see businesses grow and expand
  • I want to see a supportive Development Application (DA) process for expanding and new businesses
  • I want a see a Council that actively looks to brings new business and industry to town
  • I want to see our roads and community assets taken care of for the future
  • I want to see a ‘more’ beautiful Ballina
  • I want to see our visitors to continue to enjoy this amazing town
  • I want to see Ballina 'plastic bag' free to protect our environment. 
Most of all I want to see you, supported and listened to about what you see the town needs. A vote for me is truly a vote for your voice because I know I don’t speak for me but I speak for you, the community.
